“On Monday, August 28th, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, a program for the release of a postage stamp featuring N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) on his birth anniversary is taking place. The central government is releasing the postage stamp in honor of NTR’s centenary celebrations.
For this event, an invitation has been extended to the Nandamuri family members, including Nara Chandrababu Naidu, M. Balakrishna, Kalyan Ram, and Suhasini, along with several other family members, who have traveled to Delhi. Invitations have also been sent to NTR’s associates. The postage stamp features the image of NTR and has been issued with a denomination of 100 Indian Rupees. It measures 44 millimeters in width and is printed on paper made from 50% cotton, 40% ragi (finger millet), 5% neem, and 5% zinc.
Similarly, apart from this stamp, another stamp featuring the Ashoka Chakra alongside NTR’s image, with the title ‘Shatajayanti’ (centenary celebration), has been released in Hindi by N.T. Rama Rao underneath his portrait, and his son Taraka Rama Rao Nandamuri (NTR Jr.) has also released a stamp for this occasion. This initiative was taken as part of the centenary celebrations of NTR and as a continuation of the tradition. In this manner, NTR’s image has been stamped on a 100 Rupee denomination note.
However, the AP Telugu Cultural Academy Chairperson Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, who was also invited to the stamp release event, has expressed her dissent by filing a complaint with Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, stating that her rights to attend the event have been violated. Despite this, NTR’s wife, Basavatarakam, attended the postage stamp release event, asserting her right to be present.
Despite the absence of Lakshmi Parvathi due to her disagreement, she conveyed her invitation to Lakshmi Parvathi, whose presence was requested, expressing her appeal.”
